How to take care of your jewellery to keep it in perfect condition

Jewellery is often an investment, you buy a piece that you will want to wear for years and many have sentimental value. For this reason it is always important to take care of your jewellery properly to keep them in the best condition so you can keep it for as long as you still love it (for forever)

Here are some simple tips to keep your jewellery beautiful and your favourite

All of our jewellery is made of 925 sterling silver, it won’t tarnish with care but it can become dull overtime, by doing these techniques you can give them life back

Try to keep your jewellery away from any moisturisers, perfumes, hair spray, antibacterial gel or makeup. They can clog up in the jewellery over time and make the silver dull. If this happens you can easily clean them with water then gently polish with one of our polishing cloths. Only use jewellery cleaning products on your jewellery, no other chemicals or products.

Talking of chemicals, make sure you take off your jewellery if you go swimming, either in chlorine pools or the sea. This can damage the silver and reduce its life. You should also take your jewellery off before showering or bathing too but we all forget so to compensate make sure you do all the rest of these steps.

If you can try to keep your jewellery out of direct sunlight too

When you take your jewellery off you should always store it properly, either in a jewellery box, stand or in our packaging. This will hugely reduce the chance of scratches, tangling and damage. I keep all my everyday jewellery in our pouches when I take it off so I don’t loose it while I’m out. You can find our jewellery pouches as well as extra gift boxes, stands and our signature jars here or under Accessories

Weather you wear studs or hook earrings, it’s so important to regularly clean the earring regularly to prevent any buildup then infection.
This is important with any earrings, not just mine.

At least once a week, try to run your earrings under water, no products are needed. Gently rub with your fingers, just to move any build up. If you have time, wash your ear too again to remove build up. This will really help with reducing any chance of infection.
